Here’s some insight into Sen. Ted Cruz, the (so far) only declared Republican candidate for president.
On Tuesday, the conservative Republican and fierce critic of the Affordable Care Act announced that he would be signing up for health care under...the Affordable Care Act.
Turns out his wife is taking an unpaid leave from Goldman Sachs to work on her husband’s campaign. So the Cruz family is going a different route when it comes to health coverage.
“We will presumably go on the exchange and sign up for health care,” he said.
He still plans to repeal the controversial law if he becomes president, saying Obamacare is “lawlessness on a breathtaking scale.”
And now, different topic: Cruz’s taste in music.
The senator was a big classic rock guy — until the Sept. 11th attacks.
“I actually intellectually find this very curious, but on 9/11, I didn't like how rock music responded,” Cruz said Tuesday. “And country music, collectively, the way they responded, it resonated with me.
“I had an emotional reaction that said, 'These are my people.' So ever since 2001, I listen to country music.”
There ya go.
