A 51-year-old Lenexa man was stabbed multiple times Tuesday night, and a woman is being held on suspicion of attempted murder.
Lenexa police said the man is expected to recover.
The incident occurred just before 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at an apartment complex in the 11900 block of West 77th Terrace.
The man told officers that when he answered a knock at his door, his former girlfriend began stabbing him. She left before police arrived.

Officers later found the 37-year-old woman at her apartment in the 9100 block of Renner Road and took her into custody.
She was booked into the Johnson County Jail pending a decision on charges from the district attorney.
