Prosecutors have accused a 54-year-old Kansas City man with second-degree murder and armed criminal action for allegedly stabbing a man during an argument.
The Jackson County prosecutor has accused Brian K. Morrow of fatally stabbing Isaiah N. Jones, 20, of Kansas City, about 9:30 p.m. Friday near 30th Terrace and College Avenue.
Witnesses told police that the two were in Morrow’s Nissan Xterra when an argument erupted about when police could detain someone. They had been headed to a drive-in movie when the victim asked to be dropped off near 31st Street and College.
Witnesses said Morrow drove his SUV to 30th Terrace and College and stopped. Jones got out of the vehicle, and the two continued to argue.
According to court documents, Morrow allegedly said he was going to stab Jones and got out of the SUV. The two got into a physical altercation and Jones was stabbed.
Morrow allegedly drove away while the witness tried to help Jones. He died at the scene.
