A man who robbed two Overland Park banks and one in St. Joseph was sentenced Monday to eight years and four months in federal prison.
Robert Robinson, 42, of Kansas City, was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Kansas City, Kan., where he pleaded guilty to three counts of armed bank robbery.
The three robberies occurred in May 2014.
In the first, at a Commerce Bank branch at 95th Street and Antioch Road, Robinson handed a note to a teller demanding money or he would “start shooting up the place.”
He also admitted to robbing a Bank of America at 158th Street and Metcalf Avenue and another Commerce Bank in St. Joseph.
