Two Kansas City men are facing charges in connection with a burglary in Raytown on Sunday that ended with one of the men being shot by police, according to Jackson County prosecutors.
Arnett W. McNeal Jr., 45, is charged with assault of a law enforcement officer and burglary. Saintino J. Garner, 20, is charged with burglary.
According to court records, the men entered a home in the 6200 block of Ralston Avenue about 9:40 p.m. and grabbed a change jar, a handgun and other items before being surprised by police.
McNeal allegedly pointed a gun at officers, and an officer shot him in the abdomen. McNeal was taken to a hospital with an injury that police said was not life-threatening.
The officers were not injured.
McNeal and Garner were in custody Wednesday at the Jackson County jail. Bond was set at $150,000 for McNeal and $15,000 for Garner.
