A Smithville man previously convicted of child molestation was sentenced to federal prison Tuesday for receiving child pornography over the internet.
Jacob A. Arnold, 20, was sentenced to 12 years in federal prison.
The sentence will run concurrently with the 15-year sentence previously imposed for his child molestation conviction in Clay County Circuit Court.
Once he is out of prison, Arnold will be supervised by federal officials for the rest of his life.
Arnold was on bond in the Clay County case when he received child pornography over the internet last year, according to federal prosecutors.
A subsequent search of computers, cameras and a cellphone found at Arnold’s house turned up about 170 videos and 1,600 still images of child pornography, prosecutors said.
