Federal agents believe the man who held up a Platte County bank on Monday is a serial bank robber who also has hit three Oklahoma banks, most recently on Friday.
The FBI released photos Friday morning taken during three of the bank robberies and asked for the public’s help in identifying the man in the photographs.
Within hours, they had a name — Jesse Bud Leaverton — and announced that an arrest warrant had been issued for him.
At all four banks, the robber produced a demand note and told tellers he had a weapon. He fled on foot.
The robberies happened at the Platte Valley Bank in Dearborn on Monday; at a Bank of America in Tulsa, Okla., on Thursday; at Security State Bank in Fairfax, Okla., on Friday and at an Arvest Bank in Tulsa on June 18.
