A 58-year-old Independence man faces a felony charge, accused of sending text messages threatening a Jackson County judge and his wife.
Jackson County prosecutors have charged Timmy D. Graves with tampering with a judicial official.
According to court documents, Graves allegedly sent threatening text messages to a judge’s email address. The messages read, in part: “Come to my house (expletive)! I triple dog dare u. (Expletive) U. I’ll (expletive) you up.”
A subpoena for the telephone number that sent the messages showed the subscriber for that number was Graves.
Graves has been involved in several domestic cases at the circuit court, including two orders of protection and a divorce.
Prosecutors requested a bond of $50,000.
