A man shot to death during a confrontation with a Lafayette County sheriff’s deputy last week has been identified as a Kansas City resident.
Nicholas J. Ferro, 47, was shot June 14 after the deputy responded to a call about two suspicious men asking for gasoline at a woman's home, according to the sherriff’s office.
The deputy found Ferro and another man in a car parked near the home on North Outer Road, east of Johnson Drive.
According to the sheriff’s office, Ferro displayed a gun and the deputy shot him.

The other man in the car, Glen E. Williams, also of Kansas City, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, driving with a revoked license and felony possession of burglary tools.
