A Kansas City man who broke into a nearby home after robbing a Brookside bank last year was sentenced Wednesday to 10 years in federal prison.
Frank L. White, 36, previously pleaded guilty to robbing the Commerce Bank branch in the 6300 block of Brookside Plaza.
According to the plea agreement filed in U.S. District Court, after the robbery, Kansas City police saw White walking in the area of 65th and Holmes streets. He began running when he saw officers and ended up forcing his way into a nearby house.
He confronted the homeowner and demanded his car keys. The homeowner refused and yelled for White to get out of his house.
Never miss a local story.
The homeowner ran out the front door. Police arrested White in the back of the home.
He was carrying the same amount of money taken in the robbery and had a note that read, “All hundreds I gotta gun be quick so nobody gets hurt.”
