Kansas City police arrested a suspected gunman and accomplice early Thursday following a brief vehicle pursuit that ended at Interstate 70 and the Paseo.
Police believe they were the two people, including one armed with a gun, who approached a woman just before 4 a.m. in the 1500 block of the Paseo. The gunman pointed the weapon at the woman and threatened to kill her, the woman told police. As officers arrived at the scene, the gunman and accomplice were pulling out of the parking lot. They refused to stop. Officers followed them.
The brief pursuit ended at I-70 and the Paseo. The gunman allegedly got rid of his weapon before police arrested him. He had an empty holster on his waistband. A passenger threw drugs out of the vehicle during the pursuit, police said.
Both were arrested without incident, police said.
