A 22-year-old Richmond woman was killed and six others injured in a head-on crash early Sunday near Orrick, Mo.
The Missouri Highway Patrol identified the dead woman as Rachel M. Bailey.
The crash occurred about 1:15 a.m. along Missouri 210 at Egypt Road, just west of Orrick in rural Ray County, according to a preliminary crash report from the Missouri Highway Patrol.
Bailey was a passenger in a 2005 Nissan Altima headed east on Missouri 210.
A westbound 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by a 40-year-old Kansas City man crossed the center line and struck the Altima head-on. Bailey died at the scene.
The crash seriously injured the Altima’s driver, Crystal G. Streiler, 37, of Richmond.
Four other passengers in the Altima — Dameyell D. Deshanzo, 20, of Richmond and Rafael O. Gonzales, 20, Yusnier Licor Sury, 29, and Johnny C. Rivera, 18, all of Kansas City — suffered moderate injuries.
The Pontiac driver suffered serious injuries. He was arrested on suspicion of felony manslaughter, according to Missouri Highway Patrol arrest reports.
