A man previously convicted of sexually abusing a 7-year-old girl is facing new charges of sexually abusing two children in Kansas City.
Bernard R. Melvin, who is on the Missouri sex offender registry for his previous conviction, has been charged in Jackson County Circuit Court with four counts of child molestation.
Melvin, 40, was convicted in 2006 in Christian County, Mo., and sentenced to seven years in prison, according to court records.
The new charges involve girls who are now 12 and 10, according to court documents filed by Jackson County prosecutors.
Both girls reported earlier this year that Melvin had molested them on multiple occasions while baby-sitting them last year, according to court documents.
Melvin was arrested Monday and is being held on a $100,000 cash bond.
