Man found shot to death in Franklin County home

Several law enforcement agencies including the Kansas Bureau of Investigation is investigating the death of a man found fatally shot in a Wellsville, Kan., home.

Authorities have called the man’s death suspicious, but said nothing indicates that the general public is in danger.

Wellsville police responded about 5:45 p.m. Tuesday to a house in the 200 block of W. Third Street on report of a shooting.

Franklin County emergency medical service as well as sheriff deputies responded to assist.

Upon arrival, authorities found the man’s body. He was deceased.

Wellsville police requested help from the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, which assumed control of the scene and the investigation.
