Someone claiming to be a police officer pulled over a motorist Sunday night in the 1700 block of Burlington Avenue in North Kansas City, the motorist told police.
The motorist said he saw an unmarked, dark-colored SUV with overhead lights parked at the QuikTrip on West 26th Street moments before being pulled over just after 9 p.m. The impersonator requested his identification, so the motorist handed it over, said Maj. Kevin Freeman with the North Kansas City Police Department.
The impersonator walked to his vehicle and returned moments later. He threw the wallet on the floorboard of the victim’s car and said he was giving the man a warning, Freeman said.
The victim said the impersonator was very rude.
Never miss a local story.
He described the impersonator as a white male about 5 feet, 10 inches tall with a stocky build. He wore a black shirt and dark pants.
