Reward money offered for tips to playground fire

Independence police are seeking information on those responsible for May 12 arson fire at Bundschu Park.

A reward of up to $2,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest of the person who set fire to playground equipment at Bundschu Park in Independence, authorities said Thursday.

The fire was reported just before 1 a.m. May 12 at the park in the 11400 block of East Ninth Street. It destroyed the playground equipment and caused an estimated $10,000 in damage.
