Authorities have identified a machete-swinging man shot and killed by a Kansas City, Kan., police officer Saturday night as Carlos Davenport, 50. Officers were called to an apartment in the 1100 block of Washington Avenue after a caller said a man was trying to stab her sister. An officer shot Davenport after he charged out a door with a machete raised above his head.
