Police identify Northland fatal shooting victim as 30-year-old Russell Fisk

A man found dead inside a crashed sports car late Friday has been identified by police as Russell J. Fisk.

Fisk was shot to death while driving his vehicle in the area of N.W. Barry Road and North Marston Avenue, Kansas City police said in a news release.

Officers had responded to the scene just after 8 p.m. Friday for a report of a single-vehicle crash.

Kansas City Fire Department personnel declared Fisk dead at the crash scene from gunshot wounds.

Fisk had just turned 30 on May 2.

A police spokeswoman told The Star Friday there were many witnesses at the Barry and Marston incident, "so we know somebody saw something."

It was one of three shootings reported in the Northland Friday night.

A person suffered life-threatening injuries after a shooting at 111th and North Campbell streets sometime after 9 p.m.

Minutes later, another person received non-life-threatening injuries at 102nd and Main streets. Police said a man was on his motorcycle when he suffered a grazing gunshot wound to an extremity.
