Lawrence Police Department's tweet was very simple and had a clear message.
"Hey potheads planning to toke up on 4/20, stay off the roads," the message read.
"Stock up on Cheetos and Mt. Dew BEFORE you spark. Saturation patrols to find drugged drivers to occur."
With Friday being the unofficial holiday for marijuana users, Lawrence police announced they will join other law enforcement agencies in the region to look for people showing shows if driving impaired and other traffic violations.
Police in Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska, Arkansas, Missouri and Oklahoma will have saturation patrols this weekend to find drugged drivers.
"Regardless whether a drug is legal or illegal it's a serious crime to drive while impaired by any drug," Lawrence police said in a release.
They urged people to designate a sober driver and to buckle up whenever they get in a vehicle.
