Police were investigating a possible homicide Thursday after a man was found fatally shot inside a running vehicle in Grandview.
Officers responded about 9:30 a.m. to a parking lot to the Arbors of Grandview Apartments near 119th Street and Newton Avenue on a report of an unconscious person in a vehicle.
Arriving officers found a black 2015 Chevrolet Equinox parked with its engine running.
When officers checked on the car, they found the body of a 25-year-old man in the driver’s seat. He had been shot.

Detectives are investigating the man’s death as a possible homicide.
The man’s death is the second time in less than a month that police have responded to the apartments regarding a homicide.
In January, Lynnette Williams’ body was found set on fire near a dumpster outside her apartment.
Kasanova Callier, 27, of Grandview — her boyfriend and father of their 4-month-old son — has been charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action.
Callier allegedly stabbed Williams to death.
Anyone with information about the shooting death is asked to the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477).
