Authorities have arrested a woman wanted in the stabbing death of a Kansas City, Kan., woman last month.
Marshall, Mo., police arrested Tara Alise Treece, 28, of Kansas City, Kan., Sunday. She was booked into the Saline County, Mo., jail on a misdemeanor charge of disturbing the peace.
The Wyandotte County District Attorney’s office confirmed Thursday that Treece has been charged in the stabbing death of 32-year-old Megan N. Hernandez.
She waived extradition to Kansas on charges of second-degree murder and armed criminal action.
A relative of Hernandez found her about 2:30 p.m. Jan. 18 on the porch of a house in the 900 block of South Mill Street in Kansas City, Kan.
Emergency crews responded to the home, but Hernandez was dead by the time they arrived.
Treece will be returned to Wyandotte County at a yet to be determined date.
Her bond has been set at $200,000.
