A 46-year-old Idaho man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly pointing a rifle at traffic on Interstate 29 in Platte County.

The sheriff’s department received multiple calls shortly before 4:45 p.m. It and the Missouri Highway Patrol found the man on the southbound highway about a mile north of the Missouri 273 exit to Tracy and Weston. Officers used a Taser on the man, who was taken to a hospital for evaluation.

Officials do not have any information that the man fired at any vehicles. Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s department at 816-858-3521.
