Kansas City police are investigating a triple shooting that happened Tuesday evening and left three victims with serious injuries.
The incident was reported about 9:30 p.m. in the 6800 block of Manchester Avenue. Officers arrived and found a car that had crashed into a telephone pole. The driver had been shot and was unresponsive. The front-seat passenger also had been shot and was standing outside the vehicle. A third victim was located in the front yard across the street.
The front-seat passenger reportedly told officers they had driven to the area to buy drugs and when they arrived, a man inside another car pulled up and shot at them. Their car slammed into the telephone pole, and the gunman fled south on Manchester Avenue, police said.
Police recovered several spent shell casings outside of the victims’ car. The three victims were taken to nearby hospitals.
The driver was listed in critical condition, and the other two victims were listed in stable condition.
