A Kansas City man has been charged in a December shooting that killed another man.
Brandon M. Johnson, 29, was charged by the Jackson County prosecutor’s office with second-degree murder and armed criminal action. He is accused of killing Marlon Hill, who was fatally shot Dec. 6 in the 2200 block of East 85th Street in Kansas City.
According to court records, Hill was found sprawled on the ground outside a residence with gunshot wounds. He died later at Research Medical Center.
Court records indicate Hill earlier had been inside his girlfriend’s residence when Johnson came over to visit. Later, court documents state, Hill and his girlfriend argued, and witnesses stated Hill and the girlfriend stepped outside.
Johnson came outside armed with a gun and began to argue with Hill, witnesses told police. Johnson is alleged to have pointed the gun at Hill and shot him.
Jackson County prosecutors requested a $300,000 cash-only bond.
