A Kansas City woman has been charged with murder after an altercation with a man led to a fatal stabbing Monday night.
Clarisa D. Baldwin, 35, was charged Tuesday with second-degree murder and armed criminal action in connection with the stabbing death of George Hamilton.
According to court records, Kansas City police responded about 10:20 p.m. Monday to the 2700 block of East 35th Street on a report of a stabbing. They found Hamilton on the sidewalk suffering from multiple cuts and puncture wounds.
Hamilton, 40, of Kansas City, was pronounced dead at a hospital.
Court documents indicate witnesses heard arguments outside the residence before the incident.
One witness stated that the suspect, when told to leave the victim alone, allegedly responded, “No, he took my phone.”
Witnesses observed the victim being stabbed several times, court documents state.
Baldwin is being held on a $150,000 bond.
