The National Agricultural Center and Hall of Fame in Bonner Springs is closed for the rest of the year while officials rethink its future.
Event and daily attendance have grown substantially, the center said in a news release, but without continued private funding, its board had to make a tough decision. The release said the center will be “completely reimagined in the months ahead.”
"Our balance sheet is strong, and our board of directors and partners are committed to a bright future," board chairman Jody Albers said in the release.
The center said it will continue to maintain the property and preserve the collection while renting out its facilities during the year.
