A car wash fundraiser will be held Sunday to help pay the funeral expenses of a 13-year-old boy who died as he tried to run across Interstate 35.

The car wash for Ezkial R. Crapo of Lenexa will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Tire & Auto, 11732 Blue Ridge Boulevard in south Kansas City.

Ezkial died Saturday while he and two friends tried to run across Interstate 35 just south of 75th Street in Overland Park.

The boys were returning from a trip to Wal-Mart when Ezkial was struck by a pickup truck in the southbound lanes.
