Schlitterbahn Waterpark has openings for about 600 workers this summer at its Kansas City, Kan. complex. Applicants must be at least 16 and be available to work throughout the summer months, including weekends and holidays. Jobs range from working in retailing to life guarding in pools and tube chutes to cooking pizza and funnel cakes. The park opens May 24 for the summer season. The company will hold a job fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the waterpark at 9400 State Ave. Applicants must first register online atwww.schlitterbahn.com/kc

Shawnee Mission Medical Center recently honored six of its physicians with RPE awards, which stands for Recognizing Physician Excellence. The awards and winners:

• Excellence: Rodney Hill, pulmonary.
• Stewardship: Frank Koranda, dermatology/otolaryngology

Faculty and staff at Johnson County Community College have volunteered to teach more than 200 classes ranging from home brewing for beginners to what food can tell us about class differences in the time of Downton Abbey. The program is scheduled for April 20. The 45-minute classes will be offered at 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. across the campus that day. This is the third year for Free College.
