Shawnee Mission doctor office
Shawnee Mission Primary Care has opened a doctor’s office in Leawood. The facility, at 151st Street and Nall Avenue, is staffed by Dawn Peterson, a family medicine physician, and nurse practitioner Janet Gianino. It is the seventh Johnson County location for the Shawnee Mission Primary Care system.
Moody’s Investors Service has assigned an Aa1 rating on $24.7 million in bonds being issued by the city of Shawnee. Moody’s said the investment-grade rating “reflects the city’s sizeable tax base with above-average income indices favorably located in Johnson County, sound financial operations and manageable debt levels.”
Emporia State credit review
Moody’s Investors Service said it has completed its review of Emporia State University’s credit rating. In May, the agency downgraded the school’s debt rating to A2 from A1 following concerns about the budget outlook for the state of Kansas and its impact on higher education spending at public universities.
The A2 rating, which is still on the upper tier of investment quality, affects $13 million in debt. Moody’s also said it issued a “stable” outlook for Emporia State, reflecting expectations of “improved operating performance for fiscal years 2014 and 2015 due to increases in full-time equivalent enrollment and modest expense growth.”
