Printing executive honored

Mike Magerl of Overland Park has been named Kansas City Executive of the Year by the Printing and Imaging Association of MidAmerica. Magerl, president of the Marketing Services Group at Trabon, will be formally honored on May 9. The association represents members in Missouri, Kansas, Texas and Oklahoma. Mager has been in the printing industry since 1988. He joined Trabon about 19 years ago.

Magazine salutes JCCC

Johnson County Community College is one of seven colleges and universities nationwide recognized by University Business magazine as “Models of Efficiency.” The college was recognized for developing a personal online admission plan, which was introduced to summer 2012 applicants. The online admission system, designed in collaboration with the college’s administrative computing services department, is expected to save the college about $30,000 a year, largely in mailing costs.

Manufacturers honor Sen. Moran

The National Association of Manufacturers recently honored Sen. Jerry Moran of Kansas for legislative policies that support manufacturing. According to the association, Moran supported 89 percent of the policies identified by the organizaton as critical to the success of manufacturing in the United States during the 112th Congress. Moran was recognized at an event hosted by the association and YRC Worldwide Inc. based in Overland Park.
