Two college presidents and an insider are the three finalists to become the next Johnson County Community College president, officials said Tuesday.
The college’s board of trustees will interview the candidates this month in special board meetings that are open to the public.
The finalists: Joseph Sopcich, executive vice president/chief financial officer at JCCC; Edward “Ted” Raspiller, president, Blinn College’s Brazos County Campuses in Bryan, Texas; Richard Shrubb, president, Minnesota West Community and Technical College in Worthington, Minn.
Raspiller will be interviewed Tuesday; Sopcich on April 16; and Shrubb on April 24. The meetings will be at 4 p.m. in the Hugh Speer board room, GEB 137, on the college campus.
A search committee made up of faculty, staff, community leaders and trustees will make a recommendation at the trustees’ regular meeting in May.
Current JCCC President Terry Calaway announced his retirement in October.
