Olathe holds free fishing derby June 14

Registration now is underway for the 33rd Annual Olathe Kids Free Fishing Derby scheduled for 7:30 a.m. to noon June 14 at Cedar Lake Park, south of 151st Street at 15500 Lone Elm Road in southwest Olathe.

Kids from 3 to 15 years old and seniors 60 and older can fish with free worms, hooks, bobbers and T-shirts until supplies run out. A free hotdog lunch for the whole family runs from 11 a.m. until awards are presented at noon. Olathe’s Bass Pro will supply drinking water.

Register at www.olatheks.org/ParksRec/Fishing. Check-in is from 7:30 to 9 a.m.
