Olathe-based Terracon Consultants Inc. is expanding its engineering business in northern California.
The engineering consulting firm has acquired Neil O. Anderson and Associates, based in Lodi, Calif., for an undisclosed price.
Anderson specializes in geotechnical, environmental and materials-testing engineering. The company works on a range of projects, from federal highways to aquatic facility design services for public and private sector clients.
Founded in 1991, Anderson also has offices in Sacramento and Concord, Calif. It has annual revenue of about $8.4 million, Terracon said.
The newly acquired company will operate as Neil O. Anderson and Associates, A Terracon Company. Terracon said it will retain all of Anderson’s more than 60 employees.
“Joining with (Anderson) adds to our expertise and enhances our current service offerings to clients in California and nationwide,” David Gaboury, president and chief executive officer of Terracon, said in a statement.
Terracon is employee owned and is ranked as 35th largest on the latest Engineering News-Record list of the top 500 design firms. That’s up three spots from 2013.
In 2013, Terracon reported annual revenue of $419 million.
The company has more than 3,000 employees in more than 140 offices in 40 states, including 230 here. It offers environmental, facilities, geotechnical, and materials services.
