“We want our members to be knowledgeable,” said Judy Sherry of south Kansas City. “We want to see our grandchildren grow up.”
The half-percent increase would be used for improvements to the city’s pool and its public works facility.
Incumbent Laura McConwell did not seek re-election. Steven Schowengerdt defeated David Shepard, who was more closely aligned with McConwell.
