Cotton candy, corn dogs and carnival rides are in the air. Unplug and head outside for the 2017 Johnson County Fair — “Barn in the USA” — for some good old-fashioned fun. The family friendly, weeklong event will run from July 30 to Aug. 5 and feature everything from carnival rides and funnel cakes to livestock shows including sheep, swine and goats.
The fair dates back to 1939 and highlights both livestock and agriculture in Johnson County. The week’s events are free of charge, excluding carnival rides and evening arena events.
