Kyndal Lewis and Kamryn Estell of Belton were both selected recently to the Suburban Blue all-conference girls’ basketball team.
Lewis, a 5-foot-9 freshman forward, was selected first-team all-conference. She was the Pirates’ leading scorer at 11.3 points per game and also averaged 6.4 rebounds for the Pirates, who finished 11-15 overall but third in the conference at 6-4.
Estell, a 5-11 junior center, was a second-team selection. She averaged 9.1 points a game and led the Pirates with 6.8 rebounds per contest.
Lewis was joined on the first team by two members of undefeated league champion Kearney: Callie Schwarzenbach, a 6-5 senior, and Taylor Frizzell, a 5-10 junior.
Platte County’s Rockey Chambers, a 5-7 senior, and Hannah Valentine, a 5-8 junior, also made the first team along with Joelle Egeland, a 5-6 junior from Winnetonka.
Making the second team along with Estell were a trio of Kearney players — Emma Couch, a 5-10 senior, Grace Burkemper, a 5-9 senior and Abby Couch, a 5-10 sophomore — along with Platte County’s Jaycie Stubbs, a 5-8 junior, and Grandview’s Oriyanna Barnes, a 5-3 freshman.
Finally, Belton junior Mackenzie Staats and freshman Kennedy Moss were honorable mention picks along with Raytown South’s Eden Billups-Campbell, Briauna Garth and Amya Milligan; Winnetonka’s Victoria Williams and Jadeci Thomas; Grandview’s Jayden Moore; and Platte County’s Lauren Walker.
