Sample named Employee of the Quarter at Cass Regional
Stacy Sample, lead phlebotomist in the laboratory, was recently chosen as Cass Regional Medical Center’s Employee of the Quarter for the third quarter of 2017.
Sample, who has been a Cass Regional employee since 2004, was nominated by manager Terry Colombatto and selected as the Employee of the Quarter for positively representing the hospital’s mission and vision.
“Her organization skills are vital to the smooth running of our department and she is always looking for ways to improve,” Colombatto said in a release. “She always has a patient-first outlook on our processes. She is efficient and has a pleasant demeanor with patients. She is always greeting them and conversing with them in a friendly, welcoming and professional way as she skillfully collects blood samples.”
Never miss a local story.
Sample said the best part of her job is getting to know patients and their families on a personal level and making them feel comfortable. She also said she gets to do a quality service for the people in the community and make them feel like they have an extended family at the hospital.
“I was shocked and speechless to receive employee of the quarter,” Sample said in a release. “I never expected to receive the award and it is truly an honor.”
Sample lives in rural Adrian and is married to Steve Sample. She has two children, Evie and Will.
When she’s not at work, she likes spending time with her family, being outdoors, and Civil War reenacting.
As Employee of the Quarter, Sample received a paid day off, a designated parking space for the quarter, a pin, a crystal star award, cake, and balloons.
