On Aug. 2 at approximately 0211 hours, a blue Ford SUV failed to yield in the area of 155th and Holmes. The vehicle crashed in that area and the driver fled on foot. No suspect was identified.

On Aug. 2, a deputy responded to the 4000 block of East 204th Street near Belton regarding an animal call. A female told the deputy that her cat was killed by two dogs.

On Aug. 4 at about 1441 hours, a deputy was dispatched to the Belton Police Department in reference to conducting a drug recognition evaluation.

On Aug. 4 at approximately 1457 hours, a deputy was dispatched to the 20000 block of Oak Drive in Belton. The reporting party stated that items had been stolen from a residential garage. No suspect information is available at this time.
08/06/17 23:18 203RD AND STATE LINE ROAD, CLEVELAND
On Aug. 6 at approximately 2327 hours, a deputy was dispatched to 199th Street and State Line Road in reference to a hit and run motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, the deputy observed two horses that had been struck by a vehicle. The deputy was advised that deputies from the Johnson County, Kansas Sheriff’s Office had arrested the driver for driving while intoxicated in Kansas. A suspect has been identified in this incident.

On Aug. 3 at approximately 1916 hours, a deputy was dispatched to the area of 339th Street, west of Creighton, in reference to a suspicious vehicle. Upon arrival, the deputy observed a tan Ford Contour bearing a Missouri license sitting on the south side of the roadway. Two parties were arrested for outside agency warrants.

On Aug. 5 at approximately 0800 hours, a deputy was dispatched to the 32000 block of South Nelson Road in rural Drexel in regard to a report of an airplane that had crashed. The pilot of the plane, identified as Robert C. Richley, stated he did not have any injuries. The incident was investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Federal Aviation Administration was contacted.

On July 31 at approximately 0620 hours, a deputy conducted a pedestrian check at the Conoco gas station on a male subject who had warrants. Two male subjects were arrested on active warrants and transported to the jail.

On Aug. 5 at approximately 1351 hours, a deputy was dispatched to 2501 West Mechanic Street in Harrisonville in reference to a walk-in report of stealing. A male stated someone stole a firearm from his residence. A suspect has not been identified.

On Aug. 6 at approximately 1538 hours, a deputy was dispatched to the 300 block of Spruce Street in Garden City in reference to a report of a disturbance in progress. A male stated he was assaulted by a family member. A suspect has been identified.

On Aug. 6 at approximately 2356 hours, a deputy was dispatched to the 300 block of Renee Lane in Garden City for a reported disturbance. The deputy made contact with a female who stated she was assaulted and almost ran over by a vehicle. A suspect was identified.

On July 31 at approximately 1223 hours, an assault occurred in D-block at the Cass County jail and a suspect has been identified.
07/31/17 14:21 WEST OUTER RD, HARRISONVILLE
On July 31 at approximately 1530 hours, deputies from the Cass County Sheriff’s Office assisted East Lynne Police Department with an investigation to recover stolen property at the Harrisonville Mini Storage facility, located at 27613 S.W. Outer Road outside of Harrisonville. One suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Cass County jail for further processing.

On Aug. 1, a deputy conducted a traffic stop on Missouri 2 at Interstate 49 on a 2013 gray Kia Forte with a Missouri license. The driver was contacted and arrested on active extraditable Independence warrants, and issued a summons for driving while suspended.

On Aug. 1, a deputy contacted a male in the lobby of the Cass County Sheriff’s Office who stated that he had some of his prescribed medicine stolen. A suspect has been identified.

On Aug. 4 at approximately 1544 hours, a deputy was dispatched to the 2000 block of East Mechanic Street in Harrisonville in reference to a report of a vehicle theft. A female reported her green 1995 Honda Accord to have been stolen from a residence in Drexel. No suspect information is available at this time.

On Aug. 5 at approximately 0100 hours, a deputy was dispatched to the area of C Street and Third Street in Daugherty in reference to a suspicious subject. The deputy located a male and female in the 28000 block of Missouri 7. Both subjects were arrested for possession of controlled substance and active warrants.
07/31/17 07:13 226TH ST, PECULIAR
On July 31 at approximately 0755 hours, a deputy conducted an investigation near a residence in the 8000 block of East 226th Street in rural Peculiar in regard to a report of an abandoned vehicle. Upon contacting the owner of the vehicle via phone, it was discovered that the vehicle had been stolen from his residence in Raymore sometime during the night. The vehicle was later released to the Raymore Police Department for them to process and return to the registered owner.

On Aug. 1 at approximately 0748 hours, a deputy responded to the area of 227th Street near Deer Run Road in rural Peculiar in regard to a report of a stolen vehicle that had been located. The vehicle, a black 2008 Dodge Ram, was reported stolen from a residence inside the city limits of Peculiar. The vehicle was released to Knight’s Towing per the Peculiar Police Department and was transported to their department for processing.

On Aug. 3 at approximately 1310 hours, a deputy responded to a possible assault in the 5800 block of Trott Road. Through an investigation, it was determined a firearm was fired in a unsafe manner.

On Aug. 3 at approximately 1731 hours, a deputy conducted a vehicle stop near the intersection of School Road and 217th in Peculiar that ended in a vehicle pursuit. Upon completion, three subjects were identified and placed in custody.

On Aug. 3 at approximately 1835 hours, a deputy responded to the 15000 block of East 200th Street in Peculiar in reference to a stealing complaint. Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with a female who stated that her vehicle title had been stolen. There was no suspect information at the time of report.

On Aug. 6 at approximately 0711 hours, a deputy responded to the 500 block of Willow Street in Peculiar to assist a Peculiar officer on a disturbance call. Apryl Murray was arrested for disorderly behaviors and transported to the Belton jail by a Peculiar officer.

On July 31 at approximately 1750 hours, a deputy was dispatched to the 300 block of Kellog Road in Pleasant Hill in reference to a report of stealing. The reporting party stated unknown persons have been taking scrap metals from his storage place. No suspects have been identified.

On Aug. 2, a deputy was dispatched to the 18000 block of South Purvis Road in Pleasant Hill for a disturbance. A female told the deputy that she was assaulted during the disturbance. A suspect was identified and taken into custody.

On Aug. 2, a deputy conducted an investigation of property damage to a vehicle that occurred at Circle Drive in Pleasant Hill. The deputy made contact with a male victim, who said someone put an explosive inside of his black Chevrolet Camaro that morning that caused damage to the windshield and interior. No suspects have been identified in this investigation.

On Aug. 1 at approximately 0159 hours, a deputy conducted a vehicle stop in the area of Gore Road and Prairie Lane in Raymore on a white truck for having a non-working brake light. The driver was arrested on active Grandview PD warrants.

On Aug. 2 at 2317 hours, a deputy was dispatched to the 500 block of West Olive Street in Raymore in reference to providing K-9 assistance to the Raymore Police Department who were on the scene of a vehicle stop. During an interior sniff of the vehicle, K-9 Champ did not alert to the presence of the odor of narcotics anywhere in the vehicle.

On Aug. 3 at 0059 minutes, a deputy assisted the Raymore Police Department in the 1200 block of Kettering Lane while they attempted to arrest a male subject for several active warrants. The deputy covered the rear of the residence with K-9 Champ and the subject was located in the residence and arrested without incident.

On Aug. 5 at approximately 0856 hours, a deputy responded to the 1500 block of North Mullen Avenue in Raymore for property damage. A male reported parts to be missing and broken on his truck that was kept on the property. Suspect information was not available.
