U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill will visit Harrisonville Friday as part of her latest public town hall tour across the state.
In a news release last week, the senator promised to hold 25 town halls, including in Cass County, while Congress is on its August break.
The town hall in Cass County is scheduled 2 p.m. Friday in the sheriff's office training room inside the Cass County Justice Center, located at 2501 W. Mechanic St. in Harrisonville.
“The best way for Missourians to know that their voices are heard in Washington is for me to show up, and hear them in person,” McCaskill said in a news release. “Whether they agree with me or not, every Missourian is my boss, which is why I consider it a must, to go to every corner of the state I love, to hear those ideas and concerns directly, and hold myself accountable to Missourians.”
Never miss a local story.
McCaskill is up for re-election in 2018. Previous reports said the senator made it a point during her previous campaigns to visit more rural areas in an attempt to make inroads in places where Democrats tend to do poorly.
According to the news release, McCaskill has hosted 18 public town halls already throughout Missouri on previous tours she went on this year.
