Golf tourney will stretch over weeks
Traditional golf tournaments draw scores of players to a single course at a given time. For 14 years, that’s the way the Harrisonville Public School foundation has organized its Alumni & Friends Golf Tournament, which was played each fall on homecoming weekend.
This year, to accommodate people’s busy schedules, the foundation is offering more flexibility. Golfers and teams may choose any date between Sept. 15 and Oct. 31 to play their round.
Once they have their tickets, golfers must call the Hoots Hollow course at 816-380-4920 to schedule a time and date to play. “Blackout” dates apply when the course has tournaments or leagues playing.
Golfers can register as individuals for $80 or as a team for $320, which includes cart rental. Sponsors may choose from three support levels: $1,000, $500 or $125. Those supporting the event at the highest level will receive eight golf tickets. Four tickets will be given to $500 sponsors, and one ticket to those contributing $125. Sponsors can use the tickets as employee incentives or customer gifts, and they need not be used together unless the golfers want to be eligible for tournament prizes.
Teams and sponsors can register online at harrisonvilleschools.org/foundation. All sponsors will receive publicity on tournament materials
