Liberty School District
Orators excel: Liberty High School speech and debate students earned top individual honors at the Raymore-Peculiar varsity tournament.
First-place winners were Stefanie Flood, David Laffoon, Lucas Peterson, Mary Mwaura, Cassidy Murray, Natalie Schaller, Olivia Wilson and Hadei Witthar; second-place winner, Phoebe Alpern; and third-place winners, Stefanie Flood and Riley Peek.
The Liberty High squad won the overall team sweepstakes contest of the tournament and Peek placed second in the tournament’s individual sweepstakes contest.

Platte County R-3 School District
Musicians selected: Students were selected at the Northwest All-District Band auditions.
High school students selected for the All-District Jazz Band were Jake Adamek, Brady Burress, Chris Barngrover, Zoe Bedrosian, Kate Boren, Colton Butcher, John Cogdill, Christian Estella, Armand Perez, Kelby Rawlings and Kevin Wanner.
Chosen for the Northwest All-District Concert Band were Amber Atkins, Hailee Baer, Zoe Bedrosian, Colton Butcher, Bryce Corbin, Kailee Griffith, Craig Hagenbuch, Josh Herrera, Kara Hooser, Lauryn Masters, Elizabeth Peterson, Kelby Rawlings, Kaitlin Rhinehart and Kaylin Scarpelli.
Members of the Northwest All-District Junior High Band are MacKenzie Couch, Austin Davis, Kylie Hoeglin, Peyton Itao, Parker Johnson, Josh McKeague, Michael McKeague, Joe Morrione and William York.
Park Hill School District
Cheerleading champions: Park Hill South High School cheerleaders Alyssa Jones and Amanda Kelly were named to the All-State cheerleading squad at the Missouri Cheer Coaches Association state competition.
From Park Hill High School, varsity cheerleaders earned first place in the super large cheer squad division.
