The City of Liberty is promoting heart health during February with free exercise classes, blood pressure screenings and healthy living tips.
The city’s Facebook and Twitter accounts will share heart-health tips during the month while recipes and information for healthy living will be available at the Liberty Community Center, 1600 S. Withers Road.
Other heart health offerings are:
▪ Six weeks of Tai Chi classes begin Feb. 4. The low-impact exercise classes are $33 and run 1:30-2:30 p.m. Register online or in person at the Community Center.
▪ Free blood pressure screenings will be offered from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Feb. 18 at the Community Center, no registration is required.
▪ Free drop-in fitness class for adults 60 and over will be held at 9:45 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at the Community Center. The low impact aerobics class utilizes bands and light weights. Chairs are provided for stability or to exercise from a seated position.
No registration is necessary. Class members should sign in at the front desk.
