Scholars chosen: Students were selected for National Honor Society based on outstanding scholarship, leadership, service and character.

Liberty High School
Show opens: Theater and orchestra students will present “Shrek The Musical” at 7 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and on Nov. 20 and 21. Matinees are at 2 p.m. on Saturday and on Nov. 22.
The show will be in the Little Theater of the school located at 200 Blue Jay Drive.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students, children and seniors. Tickets can be purchased at the door or by calling 816-736-5660.
Northland Career Center
Open house: Students in eighth, ninth and 10th grades and their parents are invited to tour the center and enjoy a free chili dinner from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Visitors will be able to talk with students and instructors working in the laboratories and ask questions about vocational programs. The dinner will be served by students in the culinary arts program.
The center prepares students for careers from Liberty, Park Hill, Platte County R-3, North Kansas City, Smithville and West Platte school districts.

Park Hill School District
Singers selected: Students were chosen by audition for the Missouri All-State Choir.
Chosen from Park Hill High School were Tori Handford, a senior, and Blair Walker, a junior; and from Park Hill South High School, Connor Locke, a junior, as an alternate.
The Missouri All-State Choir will perform at the Missouri Music Educators Association Conference and Clinic in January.
