Park Hill School District
▪ Singers selected: Students from Park Hill High School and Park Hill South High School were chosen by audition for choirs.
Chosen for AllDistrict Choir were Park Hill High seniors Victoria Handford and Peri Sturm and juniors Payton Dishman, Eric Mathis, Liam Redinger and Blair Walker; and from Park Hill South, senior Eric Norfleet and junior Connor Locke.
Singers selected for the Women's Honor Choir were Park Hill High sophomores Kayla Decker, Kelly Decker, Sara Herdman and Eleanor Panico. Park Hill South seniors selected were Janae Hammond, Mikala Petillo and Alyse Weatherford and juniors Haley Stegeman and Olivia Vande Polder.
Liberty North High School
▪ Speech and debate squad: Student orators earned top individual honors at the Kickapoo/Glendale tournament in Springfield.
Placing first in original oratory was Michaela Scarrow. Earning second place were Hannah Thompson in dramatic interpretation and Cheyenne Bourgeois and Carman Stephenson in public forum debate.
The team placed third in varsity at the tournament among 34 schools competing.
International Aviation Art Contest
▪ Open to students: Aspiring artists between 6 and 17 years of age are invited to illustrate the theme, "World Air Games."
The theme is based on the aviation events of the 2015 international contest in Dubai such as looping and spinning airplanes, diving hang gliders and soaring hot air balloons.
Entries will be judged by Missouri Department of Transportation employees and must e postmarked by Jan. 23. Winners at the state level will advance to national and then international levels.
Artwork should be mailed to the attention of Teresa Hall at the Missouri Department of Transportation, P.O. Box 270, Jefferson City, MO 65102.
