Courting athletic excellence: Wheelchair basketball changes the lives of young players

Something remarkable always happens when the KC Junior Pioneers hit the hardwood. These talented wheelchair basketball players wow fans with their quick hands and lightning speed. They intimidate opponents with their tight defense and dogged determination in the paint. And they defy the notion that people with physical disabilities can’t compete in the same sports as other athletes.
