Church youth plan to sleep like homeless to raise donations and awareness

The youth group at McMurry United Methodist Church in Claycomo is hosting an unusual camp-out Saturday to benefit the homeless of Kansas City. Dozens of sixth- to 12-graders plan to leave their cell phones at home and sleep in boxes in the church parking lot. Barrels and buckets will be placed out front for donations to help homesless people
