The varsity Scholar Bowl team won the title in March at the Greater Kansas City Suburban Tournament.
Team members were Craig Allen, Zach Brewer, Xavier Chacon, Seth Davis, Josh Ehrich, Alexandrya Havener, Timmy Haynes, Regan Jacobs, Nick Present, Josh Reeves, Emily Spittler and Katie Wadle.
The Liberty North Eagles Varsity Scholar Bowl team finished the tournament with a 3-1 overall record.Platte County R-3 High School
Emily Wood advances to the International Career Development Conference after winning a medal in state DECA competition.
Emily competed in the retail merchandising event. The international tournament began on Wednesday and ends on Sunday in Anaheim, Calif.
DECA is designed to teach students marketing, management and entrepreneurship skills to prepare them for leadership roles in business.Staley High School
Color guard winners:
The Staley Diamonds were awarded the Gold Medal in the Mid-Continent Color Guard Championships earlier this month in Willard, Mo.
The color guard squad finished the season with a 6-0 record and won both state and national competitions with a routine that combined theatrics, dance, spinning flags and props.
Members are Gabby Bretz, Victoria Brogoto, Nina Bui, Lauren Cooper, Shannon Cox, Sami Drew, Allie Freese, Taylor Lee, Teaira Miller, Madison Murphy, Bre Nelson, Megan Pospisil, Baileigh Shows, Nicole Sifers, Kyndall Truelove and Brooke VanSickle.
