Liberty High School

National contenders:

Varsity cheerleaders placed as finalists in the Universal Cheerleaders Association championships in Florida.

The team advanced to the National High School Cheerleading Championships after qualifying in the Kansas City regional competition. Their performance placed them in the top 15 squads nationally for their division.

Members of the varsity squad are Annabelle Anderson, Mackenzie Briggs, Deneisha Daugherity, Hailey Davisson, Maddie Denny, Audrie Estrada, Maria Esparza, Kelsi Garrett, Danni Hammontree, Gabby Haynes, Hope Henderson, Allie Holyfield, Taelor Kirtley, Hannah Lowrance, Aubrynne Lundgren, Shelby Metcalfe, Gabby Morales, Kristen Poe, Lauren Potts, Lexi Rich, Macy Rich, Hunter Siegfried, Michaela White, Maddie Wittman, Nicole Wood and Alex Zaborac.

Northland Christian School

Math winners:

Students advanced from the district tournament to compete in the area Math Olympics competition on Saturday.

District winners were Sarah Allen, Elizabeth Burgener, Junhyeok Choi, Chase Hill, Kaitlyn Judd, Reid McEvoy, Kristin Mitchell, McKia Needham, Carlie Ross, Rebekkah Rothacher, Marianna Strehlow and Grace Tetro.

Students in third through eighth grades competed in the Association of Christian Schools International District Math Olympics.

St. Pius X High School

Fundraiser:

The junior class is hosting a spaghetti dinner from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Tickets are $7 and available at the door. Proceeds benefit the junior class prom and after-prom activities.

Children younger than 3 years old eat free.

Meals will be served at the school at 1500 N.E. 42nd Terrace in Kansas City. Carry-out also is offered.
