Fairy Tale Forest is back this month
The annual Fairy Tale Forest at Martha Lafite Thompson Nature Sanctuary is Oct. 24-26 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Children and their parents can arrive anytime and enjoy a non-scary walk through Fairy Tale Forest followed by craft-making inside the Nature Center. Costumes are welcome.
Tickets are $5 in advance or $8 at the door. Call 816-781-8598 to pay for tickets in advance.
Never miss a local story.
Some of the characters children may encounter are: Daddy Long Legs; Skunk in the Forest, Freddy Fungi and Alice Algae, Luna Moth, Dangerous Dragonfly, Tiger Salamander and Nurse Brown Bat. The characters will be teaching and entertaining, as well as giving out treats.
“It’s not meant to be scary, it’s meant to fun for small children up to 90-something years old. Last year we had a 93-year-old,” said naturalist Michael Sandy.
Martha Lafite Thompson Nature Sanctuary is at 407 N. La Frenz Road, Liberty. Volunteers are also needed for the annual fundraiser. Proceeds benefit the Nature Sanctuary’s mission of providing habitat for wildlife and outdoor education for the public.
