A 56-year-old Pleasant Valley, Mo., man died early Sunday when his pickup left the highway.
Sidney O. Kempf was northbound on Missouri 5 when the Ford F350 ran off the right side of the roadway roughly six miles south of Marceline, Mo., at about 1:45 a. m., according to the Missouri Highway Patrol.
The truck struck an embankment, became airborne and overturned, the patrol’s report said. It said the truck came to a rest upside down.
Kempf, who the highway patrol said was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Chariton County Coroner.
